ECB=Extra Care Buck (CVS store reward)
Kiosk= The coupon machine at the front of your store. I like to call it the Magic Coupon Machine.
CRT= the coupons that come out of the kiosk or the coupons that may print at the bottom of your receipt
x.xx/xx.xx= Total purchase coupon( in the form of a 3.00/15.00 , 4.00/20.00, 10.00/50.00 )
ExtraCare Card= the CVS store card loyalty program
There are few things that you can do to ensure that you are getting the most for your money:
*You want to register for and Extra Care Card online: www.cvs.com/CVSApp/user/signup.jsp
or in your store at the register. If you register on line be prepared to print the temporary card out. If you register in the store you will get a card and two key tags. If while shopping you do not have your card you can just give the cashier your telephone number. (There is a
one card per household limit)
*Register your account online.
Once you do this you will be able to load ECBs and total purchase coupons to your card and see your spending for the quarter. Also, CVS will periodically send you store coupons and a 4.00/20.00 coupon for registering.
*Register for the Beauty Club online www.cvs.com/promo/promoLandingTemplate.jsp?promoLandingId=join-beautyclub or in the store. The following categories qualify towards your beauty purchases: Cosmetics, Skin Care, Hair Care, Fragrances, Hair Color, Hair Appliances, Hair Accessories, and Healthy Skin Care. Excludes items from Beauty 360, items from Trial & Travel, gift cards and prescriptions. (taken
from cvs.com)Whenever you spend 50.00 (post sale, pre coupons) on any of the categories listed above you will earn a 5.00 ECB. The Beauty Club spending is tracked on
your receipt. Please allow 48 hrs from the day you made a beauty purchase for the total to be updated. This is the only ECB that cannot be replaced by Customer Service so keep up with it.
*Also a new program is the Pharmacy Rewards Program.
For every 10 Prescriptions filled in the pharmacy you will receive a $5ECB. Now, this works differently then the other programs CVS offers. With the prescription program you must sign EVERYONE up. So like in my household (with my 1 card) it is me and my daughter. So my daughter is enrolled in the program and I am enrolled in the program. When 10 prescriptions are filled you get a bonus $5 ECB!
With both the Pharmacy Rewards and Beauty Club Rewards you can register online or while you are in the store as long as you have an online account with your Extra Care Card it will automatically link when you register
One of the best things about CVS and why I feel its the best drug store to start with is the fact that they have SO many Rewards Programs to earn extra ECB's. The final Reward program is the Quarterly Rewards. 4 times a year CVS offers you an ECB for 2% of your spending in the previous quarter. These ECBs are offered on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st. This is calculated by your actual Out Of Pocket expenses. Unlike beauty club where its $50 before coupons, this total is actually how much you spent. So if you have a $20 subtotal but after coupons and ECBs only spend $1 then $1 goes towards your Quarterly Rewards total. This past Quarter I got $6ECB which means I spent out of my Pocket $300 at CVS. Seems like a lot but I saved over $2,000!
You should scan your card at the Magic Coupon Machine (red machine located in the front of the store) for coupons until it reads NO MORE COUPONS AVAILABLE TRY AGAIN TOMORROW (or something to that effect). These are store coupons that may be stacked with Manufacturer coupons and ECBs. The coupons at the kiosk will reset on Sundays for generic coupons and Mondays for the personalized coupons.
You also want to make sure that you like CVS on Facebook and their Minute Clinic for coupons that are available only to FB fans. These appear randomly and go quickly.
There are limits on ECB deals they are usually 1-2.(limits are noted in the weekly ads underneath the ECB deals). So, once you have reached those limits NO other ECB will print. Make sure that you are using the full value of your ECB when you redeem it for instance I have some candy that rang up 4.99 but I want to pay with a 6.00ECB I will then have to find something that will eat up the remaining balance(Fillers are either Free or really cheap items you use to get your total up so that you can use a x/xx, or so you don't lose ECBs) on the 6.00 ECB otherwise Im going to lose it. ECBs can be used like cash and they normally do not decrease the amount of tax you are going to pay. ECBs expire one month from the day that they are printed. ECBs can be used as soon as you get them.
There are a few items that you can't use Extra Bucks on like alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear.
You can roll ECBs transaction after transaction OR week to week. They are similar to Rite Aid where there is no item to coupon ratio. You can buy multiples from a manufacturer and they will still print the ECBs.
CVS STORE COUPONS/MFR COUPONS:
-You are allowed one manufacturers coupon per item.
-The total purchase CVS coupons for 4.00/20.00 etc, are good on your PRECOUPON TOTAL.
-You can combine two total purchase coupons given you have the required amount pre coupon and are following the written requirements on the coupon. If I purchase 40.00 worth of items I can then use two $4.00/$20.00 coupons.
20%, 25% and 30% off coupons are good on REGULARLY PRICED ITEMS ONLY. If you attempt to use it on a clearance item or a sale/ ECB item it will not work. The best order to hand your coupons over to the cashier at CVS is to place total purchase coupons/CVS store coupons first, ECBs next, and manufacturers coupons last. If you hit a negative balance get a 0.33 Caramel from by the register.

CVS is by far the best pharmacy for RAINCHECKS. THEY NEVER EXPIRE. You can also use manufacturers coupons in conjunction with the rain checks. ECBs will be noted on the rainchecks as will the limits. Also, on Cash Card promotions your store may or may not give you a 10.00 ECB in place of the cash card. Please note that THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS.
